How to check the country of a TikTok account

TikTok hides the country of an account from its profile page, but every account still has a region on TikTok’s side. The CheckProfiles region checker reads that region and shows it as a country name with its flag, such as United Arab Emirates, Morocco or United States.

On top of the registered region, CheckProfiles reads the location attached to the account’s recent videos. That “Last posted from” value shows where the creator is posting from right now — perfect for spotting accounts that claim to be local but post from elsewhere.

Can you see what country a TikTok account is from?

Yes. TikTok does not display it on the profile, but CheckProfiles reads the account’s region and shows the country name and flag.

Is the account region the same as the user’s location?

Not always. The account region is usually where the account was registered, while “Last posted from” shows where recent videos were posted. Travel and VPNs can make them differ.

Why does the region show nothing for some accounts?

TikTok does not return a region for every account. In that case, the posting country from the latest videos is often still available.

Does the region checker work on private accounts?

The account region often works for private accounts, but the posting country needs public videos, so it is unavailable when videos are private.

Can I change my TikTok region?

TikTok sets the region from your SIM card and registration data. Changing your phone’s region or using a VPN changes the content you see, not the region stored on the account.
